The Japan Dam Engineering Center has independently or jointly obtained a total of 28 patents concerning dam construction execution methods, construction machinery, intake or discharge facilities, etc. and now holds 16 of these.

Licensing of both the independent patents and joint patents owned by the Japan Dam Engineering Center is free of charge in principle for projects undertaken by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
